Funnily enough, we were looking at this tree last week at Wisley. The one at the bottom of Battleston Hill is a reasonable size and unmissable in spring. I want one too! I have only seen it in sheltered spots (the garden at Malverleys being another location) but would risk it for the wow factor.
The one at the bottom of the hill, on the left hand side as if you were to take the woodland track, will be the most visible. However, the one towards the top of the hill (before you draw parallel with the seat sculpture) is also on the left and is much bigger, though I had not noticed it before. Its suckers had striking pink tinges on the juvenile foliage. They come into their own in spring when the whole tree is literally the colour of a pink flamingo.

Fingers crossed.
