Photo of the damage below  - pretty pathetic now it’s lost all its leaves.
I bought it after a previous post on here for recommendations to help screen a nosy neighbour’s view.  Maybe some kind of karma involved here 🤣

@Silver surfer those are lovely examples and I will buy another specimen as the remains of the one I bought are a nonstarter.

@Obelixx Good plan. The dogs are a bit wild when playing together out the back.  They never get off the lead together in public as they are just so hyper.  As they age hopefully they will calm down a bit. Training has proved fruitless in many respects so far but I’ll persist.

    Thanks all. 🥀🍃
  • Tree appears to be grafted at the bottom.
It might survive but will be so short as to look very odd.
Branches will not have enough height to weep nicely.
    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .
  • I was wondering if that was the graft at the bottom (husband sent me the photo as I’m at work.) I may do a bit of guerilla gardening and plant it in the council ground behind my garden and see what happens. Thanks @Silver surfer 😊

I agree with @Silver surfer. Although the graft is at the base, and even if you tidy the cut at the top up, and any other obvious damaged stems, it's not going to grow properly.  :/
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
