Banana Plant - Winter Care - Cornwall

We had our 1st mild frost this morning.

I have bought a large fleece bag for banana plant. Do I remove leaves as seems such a shame as still looking good or...wrap and tie around plant. Then put fleece bag over tonight?

Do you put fleece bags down to bottom of the pot? How often air and water? Need to allow rain surely to get to roots?

That's an Abyssinian banana and they are extremely tender. Most people I've seen on here dig them up and put them in a greenhouse, shed or conservatory. You need to make sure that the pot doesn't get frosted at all
  • Unfortunately I do not have a either just a spare room. I have a neighbour who just fleeces his as we do get mild frosts in Cornwall.

    Thanks for advice.
