Monkey Puzzle tree losing sticky substance
My monkey Puzzle tree (which is over 20 years old) has developed a sticky sap running from the lower part of the trunk. It started in the summer after I accidently bumped it with the mower. I hoped it would right itself, but it has now got worse, and I am concerned. I read somewhere that I should cut out the affected part of the trunk but this seems pretty invasive and quite scary.
I would appreciate some advice
