Hello,
does anybody know what this is please? It does not have any scent and the leaves feel a bit prickly and fuzzy.
Thanks for any ideas.

  • it reminds me a bit like verbena bonarensis, maybe the lemon verbena.

A verbena of some kind, but we'd need a photo of the whole thing to see the habit of growth. V. bonariensis is a tall, upright plant, and there are shorter versions of it too.
I thought lemon verbena had smoother foliage   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I think it's a Verbena bonarensis, too.  Probably a late germinator which hasn't grown enough to flower this year.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Thank you all very much. I have a verbena bonarensis in the garden so maybe it has self seeded. I did not recognise it.
