Uneven lawn

My daughter has recently moved house, and the front lawn which is triangular shaped and a reasonable size does have quite good turf on it, but it also has several fairly deep hollow areas and some small mounds. What is the best method to level out the discrepancies? she told me that the soil appears to be quite good. So would it be best to cut crosses in the mounds and hollows and scrape off and add soil as required or take off all the turf and start again

It would really depend on how deep the hollows are and how high the mounds.  :)
The easiest way is to fill the hollows, but that would also depend on whether there's an edging round the lawn which could make that difficult.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
