Green potatoes are these safe to eat?

a1154a1154 Posts: 1,108
I grew potatoes in bags, and in the ground, both Charlotte.
The ones in the ground (only) appear to have green skins. I had to dig them all out, they were not in the light.
I have thrown some away, but now discovered that it’s only the skin, the inside is white as normal.
What do you think, can I eat the peeled ones? Or have I misunderstood, throw out anything green?

Also why are they green, if they were well in the ground? Anyone else had this?

Green happens when they aren't deep enough and light gets to them. If you cut away all the green they are OK to eat.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Don't eat the green. If in doubt, chuck it out

They all seem fine if peeled. Strange, eh?
