Fatsia stunted growth

Can anyone help , not sure what is wrong with my Fatsia , but it does not seem to be growing , and these new growths on top i am not sure about , fatsia,s i have seen all look a lot taller , not as clumped up if you know what i mean , thanks in advance

    The icon that looks like a mountain is the one for that.

    Some info on where it's growing, soil conditions etc would also be helpful.  :)

  • Growing in a pot as photo,s in good sun , just looks to clumped up

    They aren't very happy in sun - a shady spot is ideal for them. :)
    They aren't always very successful in pots either, long term, as it's difficult to give them enough root room and nourishment. In the ground they make huge plants because they have enough room to spread properly.
    The pot is restricting the length of stems, and encouraging it to flower just now too.

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Thanks for your comments , when is best to move to ground and a more suitable shady spot

    You can do that anytime, as long as ground isn't frozen or waterlogged  :)

    Pleasure. It'll be happier in the ground, and should thrive. They can be pruned a bit too, by taking stems right off at the main trunk if needed. Great plants  :)

    The growths on the top are flower buds, exactly what it should be doing just now!
