Not all cherry trees are the fruiting type as such. Many are mainly ornamental. If you want a fruiting variety, you'd need to look for that specifically. Stella is the most commonly available one, but there are quite a few.
Most will need warmer conditions to grow and reliably fruit too, so check that your climate and conditions are suitable. Morello is the exception

It's also worth knowing that types grown specifically for fruit tend to have a much less attractive growth habit compared to ornamental cherry trees and they usually need careful pruning/training in the early years to grow into an attractive shape, something which isn't very easy tbh.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
@roshnimistry1 it has fruited - it seems to be increasing each year, either last year or the year before it had three cherries! This year probably about 25.
