Succulents on a windowsill?

  • Most succulents should not be watered at all in Winter, they need a dormant period. Only water them when they are dry. If in doubt, do not water them.

I have succulents on both kitchen and bathroom windowsills. The ones in the kitchen were previous in the bathroom but they outgrew the pots and had to be potted on as apparently they liked it so much! The new ones in the bathroom were obtained late August and were tiny, but have already grown a lot .

One of the kitchen plants put out a stupendous flower this year - there was a similar one featured on Beechgrove a few months back. They are not in particularly warm locations (NW facing). I do have to remind myself to not water them too much, err on the side of not watering if not sure.
