Growing conditions for rhododrendon

Hello
I wonder if anyone can offer some advice please...

I recently moved my rhododrendon which never looked healthy to a
shady area in my front lawn.

The PH soil is 6.  I have added ericaceous compost with manure and finished it off with a layer of fine bark.

Would anyone know if I have done this correctly or have I over nourished the soil?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I clearly have no idea what I am doing!

Thanks
Justine

Sounds fine. If the soil's in good nick, they need very little attention.  :)
Plenty of 'good' water - by that I mean rainwater, if you don't have  suitable tap water. If you're in a wetter area, it  shouldn't need much from now onwards. Drainage is also important though, as they're quite shallow rooting.
Just make sure there's a good circle of cleared ground right round it so that there's no competition from the grass.
The main time to watch for is late summer. That's when they form the new flower buds, so it's important they're well watered at that time of year.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

They're mostly quite easy, as long as they have the right requirements.
Too much heat and sun are what they dislike, but they can withstand some if their feet are happy.  :)
