You must be joking Thunbergia alata 😂

Thought I'd share that it just opened its only flower of the season...hey just before it gets killed by the frost. And they say gardening is relaxing...

What similar misfires have you had this year?

That's stange. Mine has had hundreds of flowers and there are still a few. Was it too well-fed do you think?
My spectacular misfire was morning glory with a couple of flowers about 8ft up. I almost missed them.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • I probably didn't give it enough sun and it was in fresh compost. We'll try again next year 😉 it made a nice backdrop to the bench anyway.

I don't find gardening relaxing at all.
I've had all sorts of mis-fires. My pink cosmos has just started flowering and I'm hoping for a late frost. I have a dark red abutlion and recently move it to a pot where I can fleece it. Suddenly it has started doing really well; half under a table, in the shade. 🙄

I have two sunflowers blooming now, after being in the ground since March. One of them is very tiny.

It's just doing it to annoy you @amancalledgeorge  :D
That's gardening eh? Always something trying to outwit us. It would be very dull if it all did the same thing year in year out.  :)
Did you have to stand on a chair @B3?
I grew some [morning glory] this year - not done it for years. I was surprised they did as well as they have, considering our climate here. I have loads of seed, so I'll do them again, but use bigger pots. Beautiful, sumptuous colour.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

The gorgeous double Brugmansias I ordered from Germany last November, arrived by DPD in May, rooted cuttings in 3 inch pots. I potted them on, into 6 inch pots, then 12 inch size, pampered them all summer. They and the old  Brugmansia sanguinea are just starting to flower. I have had to put them all in the greenhouse where I can't see them. Mums yellow ones, tree size, 18 inch pots are the same, except she has put them in her conservatory so she can see them all the time.  It's been a funny old year.

No. I looked up through the pergola or I could see it out of my bedroom window .
Thank you for sharing your morning glory. How kind @Fairygirl😉
