Do high frequency noise emitters deter wood pigeons
I have seen a number of recent adverts claiming a 100% success rate but still sceptical ?. Apparently has a 10-15m range and is battery operated .

Birds hearing is poorer than human hearing.
Birds hear best at frequencies between 1,000Hz and 5,000Hz
Humans can hear between around 20Hz and 20,000Hz.
High frequency would be defined as being above human hearing (20,000Hz) so birds would not hear anything from a high frequency device of any sort.

The city council here in Norwich uses recordings of Peregrine falcons to deter town pigeons from lurking on the library and city hall etc ... but we do have Peregrines here so maybe the pigeons know what they sound like and have a healthy respect for them. And I'm not sure that you'd want the sound of falcon calls around your garden 24/7
