I only have a dumb phone. It tends to be my comfort blanket in case I need to call for help, or we get separated when shopping.  So Lidl are getting on my nerves. Have you got the app? NO.  Tesco clubcard. Forget it and pay more. RIDICULOUS. What on earth is wrong with just having low prices?
The supermarkets are unlikely to get rid of cards. They are an extremely effective data collection device. Very little to do with buying customer loyaltyÂ
I have always used my tesco points for a free full RAC subscription but as I’ve not been anywhere this year I haven’t bothered.  Used to get a year’s subs on the GW mag but went off that.Â

I use my smart phone all the time. One of the most useful inventions ever. I don't even need to take my credit/debit cards with me as I have them on the phone. I can even go to Waitrose and use their app on my phone to scan all my shopping as I wander round the store and then pay at the tills using my phone as well.
I do all my banking on my phone because its so easy. In days gone by when one could travel all my check in documents/ travel insurance/ photos of my passport ( in case it gets lost/nicked) are on my phone.
Denmark have just introduced digital driving licences you keep on your phone as well.
Its a fast changing world not always for the better , but I think the smart phone could be said to be one of those better usable devices for all if used correctly.

John Lewis always seem a bit behind the curve to me.
You buy something from them, say a vacuum cleaner. The next time you go to their website they are advertising vacuum cleaners. Quite bizarre.Â
And the Waitrose online delivery service is a bit weird too. We live in a rather obscure place, so I thought I’d help the delivery drivers by adding our What 3 Words address to the postal address. But it was impossible. So long as I had a delivery pending, I couldn’t change any of my personal details. It was only when I had nothing on order that I could add or remove information.
Used to use John Lewis regularly until they decided that the Channel Islands are now in outer Siberia and have slapped a minimum charge of £150 for any item designated to need two people to carry it. I wanted to get it from them to get the free 5 year warranty. Apparently the new TV I just bought locally which I carried to the car and into my home myself needs two people and £150 charge.

I make a point of scattering my personal documents. It helps that I'm not particularly tidy. I wouldn't dream of putting everything in the same place and certainly not in cyberspace.

I usually save up mine to buy rip off items like printer ink. It doesn't hurt so much then.
