Hi my name is Idrees, a student from the university of Huddersfield and want to find out what are your biggest frustrations with removing bindweed.

It's ability to grow from a miniscule piece of root, roots that go deep and spread and they break easily.
It grows fast.
Gets in places you can't get to.
Wraps round other plants so you can't spray with weed killer.

I feel your pain.
I had Bindweed (probably still have lurking under ground)in my allotment.Digging it all out was a pain.I thought it had whiteish roots @BenCotto.Please say i wasn't pulling out the 'wrong' thing!
