Bindweed

Hi my name is Idrees, a student from the university of Huddersfield and want to find out what are your biggest frustrations with removing bindweed.

Getting rid of it is a frustration in itself!
It's ability to grow from a miniscule piece of root, roots that go deep and spread and they break easily.
    It grows fast.
Gets in places you can't get to.
Wraps round other plants so you can't spray with weed killer.

My biggest frustration is that it comes into my garden from both neighbouring gardens...

Luckily I haven't got it in my garden YET. I hope it stays that way.

Stinging nettles have the decency to have chunky yellow roots which are easily seen. Bindweed has sneaky thin black roots that blend in with the soil, go down more than sideways and snap as soon as you look at them.

You’re quite right Klink, I had a ‘craft’ moment there, as I heard it described quite recently.
