Help - fungus gnats on my houseplants!!!!!!!!

Just spotted the dratted fungus gnat in the back bedroom where I keep a lot of my houseplants. I used to use dilute hydrogen peroxide on the plants at work, as I had the chemical in the store. Didn't seem to work that well. Has anyone got any advice, I'd hate to have to bin any plants, I've only just started collecting them again this year (lockdown plant frenzy!)
I'm thinking I may have to resort to chemicals, and I really would rather not.

    Try topping the pots with horticultural grit ... it will at least prevent the adults laying more eggs in the compost so eventually there’ll be no more hatchlings 🦟

    Thank you, I will try that after I've treated the plants.

    A lot of people recommend adding mosquito dunks to the water before watering the plants. Apparently it contains a bacterium that kills the larvae.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
