    I doubt anyone here has never made mistakes,  or done things which we look at now and think 'why on earth did I think that would work!'
    It's all a learning curve. 
    As @AnniD says - weather plays a big part, and this year has been quite difficult in most areas of the UK. Many of us have had disasters of varying kinds.  
    You might find it useful to keep a diary of some kind, and then you can see what you did and when etc. It's something I've only just started doing after decades of gardening - I note when I sow seeds for example,  and that's very useful. Just basic stuff, but handy for future years.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Your veg growing is better than mine ever was ! I've been gardening for a little longer (let's just say 😉), and l'm still learning. I'm sure your grandad would be very proud.
