Clematis Jingle bells

I have just bought a jingle bells. Plan was to plant against an East facing fence. Now reading up on it it is recommended for South/West facing aspect. Will it be ok in my South facing garden on an East facing fence? Want to get it right as been after getting a winter flowerer for a while. Thanks

    Hello @Sarahsiv,  I think that will be fine, south facing gardens get most of the sunshine so it doesn't make much difference whether it's on an east or west facing fence.

    It's more about shelter, than massive amounts of sun.
    An exposed east facing site will do no favours, but one that's well sheltered from wind and rain [if that's where your prevailing weather comes from]  is a different matter. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I agree and it grows in sheltered (by trees to N & W) partial shade without issue here.  I also have one (from a layered cutting) in a south-facing suntrap and it can get a bit out of hand there if I let it, but is well behaved in the shaded position.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
