Planting out my potted plants

Hi everyone.  I currently have a hebe, lavender and heather in pots and would like to plant them out into new flower beds. Is it ok to do this at this time of year? Should I cut them all back before doing so? I am in north west England.
Thank you.

If they're decent sized plants, you can plant them out. Assuming conditions are favourable - ie not frosty.
I wouldn't plant out anything in a pot smaller than about five or six inches just now, and only if the roots are filling the pot.
Cutting back of all of those is only done after flowering, and lightly.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thank you @Fairygirl. Could you advise what would be good to plant next to a holly plant, with the view of it becoming a hedge in years to come. It is a partially shaded area.
