TOMATO PLANTS QUERIES

Good Morning All

I have grown a few tomato plants from seed (from a tomato bought from a store) since March. The fruit started appearing around mid-late August.

As it is now mid October I have plenty of fruit all different sizes....but all green. I did pull 2 tomatoes and left in kitchen and within a few weeks one has turned completely red the other has a slight red tinge.

Do tomatoes take a long time to ripen?
How and when will they all ripen? As they they are all different sizes will they all turn red?
Do I take all the tomatoes from the plant and bring them indoors to ripen?
What do I do with the rest of the plant once all fruit harvested?

Many thanks in advance.

Once they've started turning a paler green, they're ripening, so take them from the plant at that stage. Some will take longer than others, so just bring them indoors to carry on.
Green ones can be used to make chutneys - there are quite a few threads if you do a search [top of the page ]

You can just compost the plant once everything is removed.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
