Slugs?
in Fruit & veg
I planted out a few winter cabbage and Cauliflower that I had established in the polytunnel, and I have noticed that a couple have been eaten away fully and nibble marks in quite a few, will this be slugs? I didn't have this happen in March/April, any suggestions and how to prevent it please. hope you are all well and good.

I certainly couldn't use them in March here - May would be more like it, which is usually too late for them to be any use.
Cabbage white caterpillars are the most likely culprits for most cabbage/cauliflower decimation, as @Joyce Goldenlily says, but slugs and pigeons will also eat large amounts, especially if they're being completely eaten. It could even be something more ravenous like rabbits etc, if they're in a polytunnel which has good access for all sorts of wildlife.
Have you got a photo @pclark42?
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I use small yogurt pots that I save and sink them 3/4 into the soil and add the cheap beer.
I was not paying attention when emptying the first one and the full pot stuck in the soil and as i pulled it out I emptied it over my face and head.
It stinks but effective.
