Can any experience Gardner tell me what this plant is please.

This plant has grown really well in my border, I had some work done and seeds and bulbs got moved around. This plant has grown really well it’s about 4ft tall in very dry soil. If anyone can tell me what it is I’d be grateful. I hope it’s not a weed, I’m very inexperienced in this area.

This is cosmos. It would die in winter but next spring you can start new plants with seeds.

  • Thank you Newbie77. I’ve googled cosmos and it’s exactly that. I hope that it may reseed but if not I will certainly buy more as it’s grown so well.
    Have a lovely day!

There is a better than 50:50 chance it will self seed in the garden. Not being able to read, they can ignore the advice on seed packets about how they should be sown.
