Redrum beans

We had a good harvest of redrum runner beans this year, and I have two questions.

The beans climbed up a wide jute net - now that the plant is dying back, is there a trick to get the dead vine off the jute, or do I need to 'unravel' it?

I also have a few pods that dried on the vine (picture attached) - can I keep these for next year as seeds?

As regards keeping the seeds for next year, that's the essence of successful runner bean growing.  Find a variety you like or do well with and stick to them.  The simplest method of removing the dead vines is to keep the whole lot somewhere dry so that, once they're fully dried and brittle, you can roll the jute up and squash it so that the bits drop off.  It's not the end of the world, however, if you leave them until next year when the new plants will grow up the old ones quite happily.  It's basically our need to keep things all neat and tidy that says we have to take them off ASAP.
