BEGONIAS IN WINTER

Dear All,
I plant begonias evrey summer and they keep going until end of October; this is when I take them out throw them away and replace with tulips for the folowing spring.
Last year I did also put some in pots and must have forgotton to take them all out; because this summer they came up and flowered. My question is this: can I leave them where they are in the ground (not in pots) and will they come back next year? If so, what do I need to do, in order to protect them? please note: I do not have the option of taking them out and then putting them back at a later date. Your advice would be most welcome.
Also does anyone no of any good sites for Begonia fans?

Regards,Rob Fleming.

Are they the type that grow from corms or the root type.

  • My bedding begonias overwintered to my surprise as well.
  • Hi all.
I have been growing begonias and geraniums in the summer months. Now it is getting into the winter months and as I'm new to gardening I don't know the proper care for them. What do I do?
Should I be dead heading or pruning or just leave them in their pots and shield them from frost.? Can someone help with some tips and advice.
    Thanks 😊
