Bottlebrush Trees HELP

We have 2 beautiful Bottlebrush Trees in our back garden. The hummingbirds love this tree. Here is my quandary: We have recently been hit by 2 major hurricanes in the past month. Unlikely, I know...but still true. Our Bottlebrush Trees made it through the first and stronger storm just fine. The more recent storm took most of the top out of one of the trees and uprooted the other. We think we can re-root the later and then trim it back to stimulate root growth. The other, we plan to trim way back to see if we can get it to grow again. Is this the right thing to do?

Or maybe @Pat E can help?  She’s in Aus.

Lyassao. Bottlebrushes are fairly hardy, but I suppose a lot of decisions depend on how much damage the roots have suffered. Any chance of taking cuttings from it?  It should be okay.

With the other one, I’d be inclined to just prune it back to strong buds and keep an eye on it.

Hope this helps a bit. 😃
