humane mouse traps

Has anyone found a successful humane mouse trap to catch multi mice?

  • We have been very successful with this one

Worked like a charm. I definitely agree with pansyface that they do need to be checked every couple of hours, especially when the nights start getting colder to make sure they don’t stay in the trap for too long and don’t get too cold. We used peanut butter on a cracker as a bate.

I have used one of these with complete success, too. I put in a bit of Cadbury's dairy milk. Less healthy but irresistible. Mouse did not appear stressed, in fact I caught it three times because in those days I was so thick I imagined it was getting trapped in my greenhouse, not making a home there, and released it just outside. You live and learn!
  • Thank you for input - I have two metal humane traps designed to hold 10 mice, when they were new caught 5 in one go and 2 / 3 other times then we wondered what the mess by the traps was so we went on ""mice watch "- they are clever - going in but after a feast were coming back out again.  Investigation resulted in finding that they had clogged up the exit/entrance with "food" Contacted manufacturer and apparently this happens, now we know!  ( note they do not advertise this fact) !!!
Stem cleaned them - success .
By the way we do check the traps regularly - don't like the idea of them being confined too long. -
Thank you all for yourexperiences, I think we have learnt a lot about mice in the last few days! hopefully I can now safely store my apples,
