Plant ID please – Liriope?

Hi all, does anyone know what the strappy little plants in the foreground are? My friend thinks they may flower blue so I wondered whether they are blue bells (but do they have foliage at this time of year?) or Liriope muscari. Any suggestions gratefully received. Cheers, Johnny

Otherwise known as grape hyacinth.  Leaves appear in autumn followed by flowers in the spring.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

They're also very invasive ; a few years ago someone I know planted a patch of these in a gravel-garden .
I'm still removing bulblets even now .
  • Thanks all, the description and invasive caveat are handy. Cheers, Johnny
