No berry gooseberry

I planted a good size gooseberry a year ago ... red fruiting Captivator....but no fruits this year.   Should i give up or give it another chance?  Does it need a friend to help with polli ation?

It may have been weather conditions at flowering time ... a late frost maybe?
I’d certainly give it at least one more year.

And no it doesn’t need ‘a friend’, but it does need decent weather and some bees to help things along. 🐝

We planted 3 Hinnonmaki bushes in March (all of different colours), not a single berry from them, but we're not worried for the reasons @Dovefromabove says.
