Sad amelanchier robin hill

Sad because no berries, no blossom and now insipid orange autumn colour.    Not what was expected.   Planted a year ago and now about 5ft high.   Am i being a tad impatient perhaps?

Quite possibly. Wait and see what happens in the Spring :) . The autumn leaf colour is very dependent on the weather, this year our 30 year plus tree hasn't had the greatest leaf colour, some years it looks like a bonfire.

How and where are you growing it?
A photo or two will help  :)
If it's that size and you've only had it a  year, I'm assuming it was a reasonably sized specimen you bought. Always harder to establish, and it takes several years for them [or for any tree/shrub] to get mature enough to start thriving properly. Your conditions and climate are big factors.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Ours (planted 5 years ago)  has only just started to change colour

The leaves have nearly all gone from ours @Dovefromabove. Ironically, as it's turned into such a dull day here, those that are left seem quite bright today 😊. Definitely been underwhelming this year.
  • Thanks all.  Its planted facing south-ish and gets sun for about half the day + -.   Newish garden too so think am being rather impatient!!!!

I planted some crab apple trees three years ago and still no blossom so no fruit. :/
