Yukka suddenly flowering

After 10 years, my established yukka at the bottom of the garden has suddenly started flowering. The spike has grown to 40 inches and each flower seems to be opening, what else can I expect? Is it flowering too late, I am worried that the autumn frosts will damage it now October has arrived. Any suggestions please?

It's a matter of crossing your fingers as they are pretty hardy.  If the flowers do get badly damaged by a frost then all you can do is cut the flowering stalk off, as low as you can (wear eye protection - those spines at the end of the leaves are lethal!)  Once they start flowering, they usually do so every year.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
