How to make my hornbeam hedge thicker
Hi,
I wondered if anybody could help, we planted this hornbeam hedge around 4 years ago. It has reached the desired height, and we have been pruning it twice a year.
Although it is not growing very thick? Any advice who be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Tom

Always use clean secateurs and cut back to just above a leaf or stem node then clear any weeds from around the base and give it a good mulch of garden compost when you know the soil is wet from a good rainfall.
It should grow away fine in spring and the pruning pf the leaders will send signals to lower buds that they can grow and thus make the shrubs thicker.
