Please help identify this plant

  I could be wrong, but it looks like an Aster to me - similar to what we used to call Michelmas Daisies.  I don't think that it's a weed - and, even if it was, I'd keep it!

  Trouble is there are masses of named cultivars...short, tall in several shades of lilac, mauve, blue, pink and white.
