Fruit cage raspberries

I have dug out some very old raspberries from fruit cage on my allotment. It was my plan to plant new canes.  But I have just  read that you shouldn’t plant   New canes Where raspberries have been grown before       I can’t move the large fruit cage !    Advice please

That's good general advice as it avoids any build up of diseases but when needs must it can be done. I would dig in a few bags of well rotted manure first and then plant your new canes. I had the same problem on a much smaller cane and they seem to be thriving so far.
