pumpkin id

Ok I feel particularly stupid re. this one and perhaps I don't really need an answer, but I bought some pumpkin plants a while back thinking I could grow them vertically - a la Monty Don. (I decided the proposed site - up a mesh fence - was too exposed, so they are now rambling.) My intention is relevant because I am pretty sure this is a small variety bought for that purpose. However I don't know how big they are supposed to get. It is pretty hard, about 8inches across. They are green and stripy when younger.
Any ideas? Definitely edible.

Looks a lot like Uchiki Kuri
... it has several other names https://www.seedaholic.com/squash-winter-uchiki-kuri.html#:~:text=More%20Views%20%20%20Packet%20Size%20%20,%20%20Cucurbita%20%2013%20more%20rows%20

We grew it for the first time this year. It seems that they stop growing as they change colour. They seem to vary in size from large onion to about 9” diameter.

We’ve brought ours inside now (with as much stalk as possible) to dry off/cure prior to storing them for winter ...if we can resist them that long. We’ve already eaten one and only have a few. Next year we’re definitely growing more. 😎

I've not really grown squash before. (Maybe once in  a rather dilitantish way.) My veg growing has stopped with autumn in the past. This was on a last minuteish, and not terribly well thought out whim, and I was very pleased to find the fruit along with some baby siblings.
I don't think it had a fancy name, but it was supposed to be yellow - I think. I thought it was Jack Be Good, but clearly it's not. Purchased at Wisley. The label may turn up... (Probably next year, but I will go and have another look.)

    Thank you!

I justt had an email from Rocket Gardens which made me wonder if actually I bought it from them not Wisley... and yes I did and yes it is Uchiki Kuri! Horray! And thanks again!
I would never have found that label as they didn't come with one!
I wonder what I bought from Wisley.

I imagine I shouldn't have picked it yet...

From what I’ve been able to learn by reading they should be picked with their stem intact and a bit if the vine so it’s shaped like a ‘T’ ... this helps the keeping properties.   We had a bit of a tragedy when I tripped and caught my foot in the longest stem and snapped it so we lost a few, and I cottoned on a bit late to the need for the right pruning technique, so as I said we only have ‘a few’.

Next year OH has plans to build a frame to grow them over.

Hmm well the one in my photo is the biggest I have :o Will wait and see what happens. Maybe sent and planted too late. As I said, a bit of an afterthought so if it doesn't work out, never mind.
I do wish I hadn't picked that one.
I was so efficient with my spread sheet earlier on in the year. I need to keep it up.
