Fargesia nitida needs moving

Can I move and split the bamboo now or do I have to wait till spring?

    I did mine in summer and it's fine but had to keep it well watered which wouldn't be a problem at the moment.
    Just don't move when the new shoots are appearing

    I wonder if bamboo is like other grasses and best moved in spring though, because they just don't do well when split in autumn.
    Not something I've ever done though.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
