rose with clematis

Hi,  Is it advisable to combine a group 3 clematis with a climbing rose?  Do you think the clematis would overwhelm the rose.  The rose is Mortimer Sackler & the clematis is Jackmanii Superba?

Once clematis Jacmanii superba is happily established it will get to 3 to 4 m each year and produce more and more stems which can be trained or guided thru the rose.  It does need to be cut back in spring every year and then given a generous feed plus water in dry spells.

The rose should get to nearly 4m too and will enjoy a regular feed in spring too plus watering in dry spells and an occasional liquid feed between April and the end of June.

I'd have thought they'd be perfect partners as long as you get the planting conditions right and do the feeding and watering.
