Plant ID requesting help

Hi,
I purchased this plant last year at local plant sale, lady didn't know what it was thought it might be a house plant. As you can see has done pretty well outside, the long spikes now(early Oct) have very tiny dark pink bell like flowers.

Is it a house plant? any thoughts?.

Many thanks for looking

It is a Persicaria, although I am not sure which. Possibly Painters Pallette.

  • Thanks for that, I can see the painters palette, will look it up
  • Persicaria virginiana 'Lance Corporal', named due to the chevrons on the leaves I believe. I have several in the garden, they self-seed well and can be split. I love them, beautiful delicate flowers, very different to most persicarias.

That’s lovely @Granniegardener ... it’s gone on my Most Wanted list 👍 if it can cope with our free-draining loam ... I see it likes damp heavy soil . :/

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
