I treat my pots with vine weevil nematodes,  however it may be getting a bit late in the year for using them as the temperatures are starting to fall. When it comes to trapping the adult weevils @wild edges may have some advice.

It's q difficult process once you have them, but in pots, a layer of gravel can sometimes help as they find it difficult to get in among the soil to lay their eggs.

You can make a moat using a large plant tray filled with water then stand the pot in the middle on some sort of legs. It won't be 100% effective though I imagine but I've found plenty of drowned weevils so they're clearly not great swimmers.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Don't use a peat based compost if possible. A fine grit layer of at least 1 inch round and in between the stems of the plant does help, a little.

Spring and autumn is right for nematodes,  they do work.
