I’d have said the top one looks like a ‘sort of pollarded’ silver birch  :/

The top picture looks like a regularly pruned Betula pendula 'Youngii' , or Pendulous Birch .
Second one is Cedrus deodara , again obviously pruned into shape otherwise they get pretty large . Someone knew what they were doing !! ;)
  • Thankyou both.
i seem to have developed an actual love for beautifully shaped trees!
    Losing the plot,
  • Ps. Does pruning of whar would be a large tree like the cedrus, mean the roots wont spread as much/cause trouble? Thanks
(wish i’d have developed this interest years ago....dont feel i have enough time left now!)

Apologies for the delay in answering , (don't use PC every day) ; as far as I know the roots of a pruned tree grow as normal unless cultivated as a bonsai in a pot .
Agree about the allotted time left ; I wish I were 40-years younger , and  owned enough land to plant an arboretum . :(
