Moss on my pots

Hello!
I've got moss growing on a lot of my pots, on some of them you can hardly see the soil!
At the risk of sounding dim, does it damage the plants and so should I remove it all?
Thanks for your help in advance!

You just need to remove it. It will do no harm to plants, but you may want to replace it with a layer of mulch of some kind - fresh compost, bark, gravel etc :)
Anything in a damp or shady spot will tend to acquire it quite readily.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks for your prompt response Fairy Girl.  Will use a mulch to stop it reappearing!

You'll still get some moss, but it looks better in the  meantime  ;)

Kind of a permanent fixture here in many pots  ;)

It's something we do very well here @philippasmith2 -bogs, peat and moss. My boots have just about dried after yesterday's hill  ;)

Thanks to you both for helping me out.  I'm in Merseyside (Wirral), and it's pretty damp and murky here too!
