Planting plug plants in lawn etc.

madpenguinmadpenguin Posts: 2,543
I bought some yarrow and selfheal as small plug plants for my 'wild' lawn.
Potted them up so they could get a better root system before being planted out.
They are now nice plants but wondering if I should plant them out now, during the Autumn/Winter or wait until the spring?

Self heal is almost indestructible, so you could probably plant them out without any problem. It spreads here in the 'lawn' quite readily  :)
The yarrow is pretty tough too, but as @philippasmith2 says - perhaps do a bit of both, to give them the best chance.  :)

I already have both in my lawn and doing well but I just wanted to spread it around a bit more where there are some gaps in the grass.
Lawn is getting a good watering now with all this rain after the drought conditions of the summer when a lot of the grass just died off.The selfheal, yarrow and clover all did very well in those conditions hence the reason for getting more in the lawn!
