Help with my lawn? (Picture)

Can someone give me any idea as to what these light yellowly patches in my lawn may be?. They have appeared over the past 1 to 2 months.

I'm wondering if it's some kind of drainage problem? There are several lawn experts on here who can hopefully advise  :)

    Is it a new lawn?
It may be dodgy/poor ground below the turf, affecting the health of the grass.

It isn't unusual though. It still looks miles better than mine does at this time of year!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Possibly the soil isn't as good under those patches (or there's buried rubble or something). Or if those areas get walked on more (being in the , the soil could have become compacted.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
