  • so exciting to see you photos....I have just ordered some seeds and a little greenhouse and cant wait to sow some too. Can I sow them indoors or should i wait the 3 weeks for the greenhouse ? Although i may have a little seed tray with a plastic cover that could work outside

    I’m growing
    Lord Nelson -
    Joyce Stanton -
    Gwendoline -
    White Supreme -
Can’t say I’m bothered about sowing this side of Christmas and will wait until early Spring. Autumn sowing might lead to displays a week or two earlier but that probably means they’ll go over a week or two earlier as well. Swings and roundabouts.

You need to pinch them out if they're leggy @sarinka. Just check on them now and again  :)
Sowing in March/April is the best time @BenCotto, if you do an autumn sowing as well.
I don't often do the autumn ones, as I've said many times on the forum, as our weather is rarely decent enough for them to grow when planted out in April. The spring sown ones catch up. However, the last couple of winters have been different from our usual, and we had a very hot April, so I'm hedging my bets.  ;)
@selinasally - if you sow them indoors, make sure it's not a warm windowsill. You don't want them germinating too quickly.
If you read back the thread, you'll see the info.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
