Sedums not growing

Hi, I bought these “String of bananas” sedum cuttings at the start of August and planted them, they are in a shallow terracotta pot with drainage and are on a south-facing windowsill. The thing is, while they look healthy enough, they don’t seem to have grown AT ALL since I got them. Why could this be? Thanks

They aren't likely to grow much until next year. They will be forming root systems, not top/sideways growth.
They do need very sharp drainage though, so be careful not to over water.  :)

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Bear in mind these are Alpine plants that prefer cool roots and regular moisture and are better suited to the garden than the house. Hot, dry weather can make them go dormant and they like good light but might struggle with too much sun. Having said that they're very adaptable and I grow some of my cuttings on in the greenhouse on a bench that doesn't get too much sun and they do fine. They also do fine in the garden in all weather though and produce a tighter and tougher growth with some weather exposure.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Interesting! Thanks so much 😊
