Door Canopies

Not gardening related I know but we're contemplating having a door canopy installed over our front door - a cantilevered glass/polycarbonate one with fancy metal supports.

I would prefer a porch but that's not possible. Has anyone got a canopy and is pleased with it?

I've seen a few of them around here @Lizzie27 , but no experience of them at all.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

We have recently installed a canopy and it does make a difference to the amount of rain reaching the door. It is now possible to stand in the open doorway during a storm and not feel as though we are in a very cold shower, and it gives you a chance to remove wellies outside the door without getting soaked. Definitely worth getting though a porch would have been a lot better.

Ditto @Ceres - I've been looking at The Canopy Co. which seem reasonable, but upon checking yesterday, their website didn't mention installation as an optional extra which I thought it had before.  Did you install your own and was it easy?

Sadly I cannot tell you anything about the manufacturer and neither can the person who purchased it because he has forgotten the details. I do know it came from Wayfair and we installed it ourselves but you will need a couple of big lads to help if you go down that route. And the window cleaner has intimated that he will certainly not be wobbling around on a ladder to clean the top of the canopy.

@philippasmith2, I've taken photos of our front door set-up and will email the company I mentioned earlier for advice. They will do installation and quote individually. It's going to be expensive but hopefully worth it.
