Hawkbit all over - how to control?

Hi all, we've recently moved, and the lawn is covered in what has been ID'd as Rough Hawkbit - I've dug up two green bins worth, but wondered if I am missing a trick as to how to control it? Some websites suggest a weedkiller containing fluroxypyr, but given how prevalent it is I don't want to destroy the lawn. Thanks

So that's what's all over my front 'lawn'. I love it. It flowers when the grass is crispy and disappears when the rain greens up the grass for mowing.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I have it and like it too. Very drought tolerant.
  • If you really dislike it do as pansyface suggests. I would consider leaving some of it and just digging it out in spots.

As mentioned, it's drought tolerant, which for this year would have been a godsend, and it's one of the key nectar rich plants for pollinators, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4920406/:

"yielding the highest rewards per flower included Leontodon hispidus [rough hawkbit], Centaurea cyanus and Cnigra for nectar"

It's a popular addition to the super trendy wildflower meadow mixes, so you'd be doing quite a bit of good leaving it.
