Can anyone identify this?

Hi all, can any of you specialists identify what is growing in the corner  of my young eryngium pot? I thought initially it was a fallen leaf, but it has tiny round sections on it (the shape of a hula hoop).
Thanks!

  • Liverwort. I think the compost might be too wet. Eryngium like well drain soil.

Agree. Just remove it, and make sure you let the soil dry out a bit or your little plant will rot off rather than thrive.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Hi @Nicole58  and welcome 😊

    Its a liverwort https://www.rhs.org.uk/Advice/Profile?PID=415

Probably indicates that the compost is too damp.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Thank you for your help and advice :)

Is it just a wee cutting @Nicole58? Keeping it a bit drier will help, especially if the compost is quite heavy  :)
