It's always easier to maintain a tree in the ground than in a container, even a big one. Your rowan also looks quite a mature specimen, which means even more work to establish. How big is the bed @allthegreens05 and is it open to the ground? Should have asked you that earlier

It's good and big then - so it'll be fine I'm assuming there's drainage holes in the base though? I should have said to you too - the medium it's growing in needs to be soil based, not just compost, but that's quite easily rectified if so
