Magnolia Fairy Cream

Hello, I purchased a Magnolia Fairy Cream shrub last year. It has put on a lot of growth this year and has flowered within the last month. The flowers however and buds have browning petals. I wondered if this might be due to it flowering this time of year or the position it is facing. At the moment it is in a large pot. I hope to put it in the garden borders so any advice would be gratefully received.
