Can you identify the problem(s) with my Yucca?

Over the past few months, some of the leaves on my indoor yucca plant have developed these dry looking spots. I initially noticed them on the older leaves near the bottom of the crown. Unfortunately, I am now noticing tiny spots starting on some of the newer foliage.

Additionally, many of the leaves have been developing crusty brown tips. There is no yellow halo though.

Most recently, a few brown circles have developed on the edges of the leaves.

I haven't changed the watering schedule, and the plant receives adequate light.

I've had this plant for just over two years.

Could this be a fungus? How should I treat this? Thank you!

Do you have pets or children? Some of that looks to me like physical damage from being bumped into or brushed against. The dark spots in the middle of leaves could possibly be scorch marks if there've been drops of water left on it when it's been in direct sun.

  • Hello. Thank you for responding. There are no pets or children in my home. I’ve always been very careful with this plant, making sure that it doesn’t get bumped or damaged. Unfortunately, the small dry looking spots seem to be spreading more rapidly.
  • Thank you for your reply. I actually repotted the yucca last year, and it was doing quite well. The pot is still large enough for the plant. It has primarily been an indoor plant. I do sometimes bring it outside during the warmer months, but not for long periods. Today, I noticed two very fine webs. Each went from one leaf to another. I can’t, however, see any bugs. Do you suspect it could be mites or another type of insect? If so, what is the best way to treat it? Thank you
  • Your Yucca looks perfectly healthy from your photos.  The leaves will inevitably get marks on them - thy will not remain a perfect overall green.
A dry atmosphere  ( such as indoors ) often has a detrimental affect - outer edges turning brown is a sign.
Not possible from the photos to tell the size of the pot in relation to the height of the plant.  Have you considered whether it is root bound ? Have you noticed any insects which may be affecting the leaves ? Do you ever let it out in the warmer months ?
The growing points look healthy which is the main thing. Unfortunately,  you cannot really expect any plant to remain spotless throughout it's life - they are much like the rest of us ;)
